London Nightclubs

With 233 venues to choose from, the London club scene is more exciting than it's ever been.

Throbbing Soho has been the heart of London 's nightlife for centuries, with a glamorous media crowd and thriving gay scene. Start the evening at The Lab Bar on Old Compton Street with the best cocktails in town, then make your way slightly east to The End , one of London's coolest nightclubs.

Head further east for London 's answer to New York 's cool former industrial scenes. 333 in Hoxton is at the centre of the area's club life. Join hip trendsetters with eclectic musical tastes at Shoreditch's Plastic People , or Cargo and Herbal just around the corner.

Two of London 's finest and largest clubs, Fabric and Turnmills in Clerkenwell have top international DJs playing the latest tunes until late.

Notting Hill Arts Club in West London is something of a jewel in the capital's crown, despite surprisingly few people knowing about it. Whether it's for the Scandinavian or Japanese or straight-up house parties, it's well worth a look in any night of the week. Also west, The Blag Club leads the latest fashion for smaller 'micro clubs' with two separate venues on Notting Hill Gate and Kensal Road .

Head north to the Islington area to Canvas , a vast space with cutting-edge club nights and a roller disco. Nearby, The Key has underground nights, a great atmosphere and big name DJs. Far from being a manic dance club, Bar Vinyl in Camden is open all day for snacks, with DJs at night. It's a place where locals chill, but it's closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Southbound, the legendary Ministry of Sound continues to pull in an international crowd. Dogstar in Brixton proves you don't have to pay through the nose for a good night out. Combine the credible DJs, late license until 0200 or 0400 every night and friendly staff and you have the perfect mix for a late evening out. Brixton also pulses with big clubs The Fridge and Mass , and Gothic decorated Bug Bar in the crypt downstairs.

Most venues are open until 0300 on Friday and Saturday nights, and larger venues can open from Thursday through to Sunday. Check times at the door on the way in so you can pace yourself for what will no doubt be a long night!

Entrance can cost anything from a couple of pounds (usually mid-week in smaller venues) up to £20 and more in larger clubs at the weekend. Entrance can be cheaper the earlier you go and it's also a good way to avoid long queues. Again, check the flier or price on the door before you start queuing.

Also look out for smaller venues where you can combine drinking and dancing, and the priority is making friends and having a good time.

Enjoy London nightlife for less with the Circle Club Card membership. The Circle Card entitles you to great deals at some of London 's hottest nightspots. Clubs include Bar Rumba, the sexy Plan B bar and Café de Paris. The Circle Card entitles you to reduced and free entry, 2 for 1 drink offers and less queuing. And the best thing is it won't cost you a thing! So now you can party more often, for longer and for less.
